The Hoser Tape – A Covid Consolation Prize is the result of a late night among friends at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our live-streamed podcast on TMU (FKA Ryerson)’s had abruptly ended due to the schools shutdown as a result of the pandemic (to return the following year in streamed-from-home format). I had just bought a new condenser microphone, and Everest and my roommate Andrew Peters (or Yung Jizz) were taking turns free styling. I used the recordings as an excuse to play around in Apple Logic, having only ever had experience in ProTools during my Intermediate and Advanced audio courses at university. The animation was done in After Effects.
